Archived Websites, or: How to Waste 5 Hours on Geocities in 2018

Geocities was a web hosting service founded in 1994 and acquired by Yahoo in 1999. Anyone could sign up, so many personal, amateur websites sprung up using this service. A decade later, Yahoo shut down the U.S. Geocities service, which at that point had 38 million user pages. Thankfully for many people still interested in the content, look, or just nostalgia of the pages, there are many websites that were archived before Geocities was shut down. These are some of my favorites.

Geocities

Note: All of these links use an archive at the wayback machine.

Starlight: A site with astrology, personality quizzes, and personal articles. I really enjoy the design of thie page, it's very simple but pretty.
Guide to the Undead: Lots of links to various resources, all relating to vampires.
Glossary of Internet Terms: Not a pretty site, but loaded with information. Last updated in '94/'95, it's a window into the internet's past.
Free Hypnosis Online Now: A very odd page with online hypnosis, divination, and an online maze.

Misc Old Web

Fallout Rest Stop: A very informative walkthrough for fallout 1. This site was still live in 2017, which is when I first ran across it, but is now only accesible through archives such as wayback machine.
